Dr. Ambrose Chan is in private general dental practice that incorporates photonic technology for PhotoBiomodulation (PBM) over 30 years. He was awarded MScDent from the University of Sydney, with a Master Thesis on “Laser Dentistry” resulting in a paper in one of the two top dental journals and an Editorial. He won the prestige prize of “The Best Scientific Research Award”-2010 World Federation for Laser Dentistry Congress.
Besides operating an established dental practice and research, he teaches and lectures at national and international meetings with a leadership role, as the Chairman for Asia Pacific of World Federation for Laser Dentistry (WFLD), in organizing dental Laser and PBM meetings, since 2012.
Currently Honorary Research Affiliate within the Brain Mind Research Centre, University of Sydney; Representative of Australian Dental Association in the Standards Australia Laser Committee since 2004; Peer-reviewer for the Journal Lasers in Medical Science, Journal Lasers in Dental Science and Laser Therapy; Radiation Safety Officer certified by the Queensland Health. Furthermore, he is currently completing a PhD, on PBM in dentistry, of School of Medicine at the University of Sydney.
He has been recently conferred as Fellow in recognition, by the International College of Dentists, of his significant contributions to laser dentistry in Asia Pacific.
