Dr Bertrand Chew obtained his Basic Dental degree from NUS in 2001.He went on to become a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons Masters in Dental Surgery (OMS) in 2006. His MDS was sponsored by the NHG(Alexandra Health) from the second year. He is now an accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and obtained the Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. In 2012, he obtained the SAF Overseas Fellowship to further specialise in implantology at UCLA, USA.
He was the Head Dental Officer of the SAF Dental Service and has a Diploma in Business Administration before the commencement of the dental degree. He is currently the Senior Visiting Specialist to the SAF Dental Service. Likewise, he is a certified trainer for the Advance Trauma Life Support Course. In his spare time, he helps out at the community and obtained the Advance Certificate of Community Leadership, a joint program by the People Association and the Republic Polytechnic.
He is currently a Consultant at Jurong Medical Centre and Ng Teng Fong Hospital, Jurong Health Services. His other current appointments include Visiting Consultant and member of the Oral Health Academician Program, National Dental Centre, Singapore.
He is also a Visiting Consultant to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Alexandra Health .
He teaches the post-graduate and undergraduate in Implant Dentistry as a clinical lecturer, Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore and associate staff, NUHS.
