CAD/CAM to Plan and Restore Dental Implants

This presentation will discuss the role CAD/CAM can play in planning and restoring dental implants.  Although proprietary software and manufacturing techniques have been in existence for a few years, we are now at a point where a single software package can be used to plan and restore multiple implant systems.  The benefits of incorporating this technology into your practice include increased accuracy in planning, improved accuracy of fit and improved efficiency in clinical workflows.

This session is also part of the Digital Dentistry Forum.

Learning Objectives:

  • To understand the role CAD/CAM can play in more accurate planningTo appreciate the indications for high-strength ceramics in inlays, onlays, veneers, crowns, fixed bridges and implant restorations

  • To compare and contrast methods of fabrication of implant restorations: analog versus digital

  • To select the techniques and materials of choice for various clinical scearios
