Free Communications

New this edition at IDEM - Free Communications. Taking place on the afternoon of 13 April 2018, Presenters from all around the world will take the stage to present their latest research and findings in preventive and restorative dentistry as well as oral surgery and medicine. Stay tuned for more information about the presentation titles and timings.

Accepted Speaker Guidelines

Email notifications on the acceptance of posters have gone out via email. Please contact if you have not received an email notification with the results of the jury process. 

After speakers have received a confirmation email to speak, an administrative email will follow with information on location and time of presentation, A/V equipment available and processing fees. Please read this email carefully. 

A Certificate of Presentation will be given to all presenter after their respective presentation.

All accepted Free Communications Speakers must be registered as delegates for the IDEM 2018 Conference. In addition, an administrative fee of SGD 100 will be charged. All fees must be settled before the staging of IDEM 2018. 

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Submissions should fall into the following categories:

  • Preventive Dentistry
  • Restorative Dentistry
  • Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine

Abstracts should not exceed 250 words and should contain the following information:

  • Title (max. 20 words)
  • Objective
  • Materials and Methods
  • Result of the study in summary
  • Discussion/Conclusion

Abstracts should be submitted in good English and standard abbreviations may be used. Section breaks are not mandatory.

The Submission Period has closed. Abstracts will be reviewed by an esteemed jury panel and submitters will be informed of their acceptance prior to IDEM.  


The content and views expressed are solely that of the presenter and not endorsed by IDEM nor the Singapore Dental Association. All queries may be directed towards the presenter during the Question and Answer session after each presentation.
