Long-term Success for the Implant Patient - Approriate Treatment Planning, Maintenance and Patient Compliance
Hugo De Bruyn graduated in1983 at the University of Leuven, Belgium, earned a PhD at the University of Groningen, Netherlands and a Master’s Degree in periodontology at Lund University, Sweden. From 1988 until 2014 he owned a private specialist referral clinic in Brussels where more than 10,000 implants were placed. He is currently professor and chairman of the department of periodontology and oral implantology at the University of Ghent, Belgium. His research activities include factors related to implant success, effect of smoking, early and immediate implant loading in completely and partially edentulous patients in straight forward as well as in compromised bone conditions, biofilm formation and simplified periodontal treatment protocols.
