Dr Raymond Wong graduated from the University of Malaya in 1997 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. He was awarded the University Entrance Scholarship, Book Prize for Excellence in the First, Second and Final (Part I) Professional Examinations and later on the ASEAN postgraduate scholarship to pursue postgraduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the National University of Singapore, graduating in 2003. He obtained Fellowships from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 2004 and Academy of Medicine Singapore in 2008. Dr Wong pursued subspecialty training in Advanced Orthognathic Surgery as a Specialist Registrar in Sunderland Royal Hospital, United Kingdom and as a clinical Fellow in Morriston Hospital, Wales, United Kingdom on a Health Manpower Development Program (HMDP) award. He obtained a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the Radboud University of Nijmegen in 2011. 

Dr Wong is currently a Senior Consultant, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, National University Hospital and is also an Assistant Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore. He is the undergraduate co-ordinator for the oral and maxillofacial surgery module for the university, a member of the Specialist Training Committee in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the current president of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Singapore.
