Dr Andrew Ip is a Sydney-based private general dentist who presents regularly on dental 3D printing and digital design. What started off as a hobby many years ago has now become a full-time passion. His passion has taken him all around the world, from the US, Europe, Asia and of course Australia where he is based.
From simple models to printed zirconia, Dr Ip has printed almost all printable dental applications possible in the global market, and he is proud to have operated no less than 40 different printers so far in his career. Dr Ip has been teaching dentists and technicians how to integrate additive technologies to their workplaces for several years and is a Key Opinion Leader for several digital dentistry-related companies. His knowledge is based on true hands-on experience.
When he’s not designing a surgical guide, printing a splint or polishing a printed crown, he can be found glued to a screen designing printable table organisers or digitally nesting wearable helmets for his cats. Amongst individual speaking events globally, Dr Ip runs a popular 3-day workshop (Zero To Hero) in Australia several times a year and has run a 2-day workshops in Malaysia and New Zealand. He also manages the Bread and Butter Digital Dentistry Study Club in Sydney which aims to explore the latest digital dentistry topics and trends at an affordable rate.
