Professor Eric Rompen
Professor Eric Rompen received his degree in Dental Science in 1986 and his post-graduate degree in Oral Rehabilitation in 1989. He completed his Doctorate in Dental Medicine in 1991. Prof Rompen is the Head of the Department of Periodontology, Dental Surgery and Dental Medicine and a Professor of Periodontology and Dental Surgery at the University of Liège, Belgium. He also leads the postgraduate programs in periodontology and implantology and is the former President of the Belgian Society of Periodontology (2001–2004). He is the coordinator of the European University Certificate of Oral Implantology.
Prof Rompen’s teaching responsibilities at the University of Liège include periodontology, dental surgery and implant surgery. His research interests cover epidemiology and the systemic impact of periodontal diseases, surgical management of tissue deficiencies, mechanisms of bone regeneration and soft and hard tissue integration of dental implants, as well as the development of biomaterials for tissue augmentation.
His clinical work is focused on gingival muco surgery and implantology.
