Dr Janice Chuang

Dr Janice Chuang is presently pursuing a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Special Needs Dentistry at the University of Queensland, Australia. As part of her training, she currently practices at the University of Queensland Oral Health Centre and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Dr Chuang completed her BDS at the National University of Singapore, during which she was awarded the Singapore Dental Association Medal for Distinction in Medicine, as well as the Dean’s List. In 2019 she was awarded a scholarship from Tan Tock Seng Hospital to pursue postgraduate training in Special Needs Dentistry. In the same year, she was also awarded the Mary McSweeney Commemorative Fellowship by the Fellowships Fund Inc.

Her work in various tertiary and primary care settings at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, the Institute of Mental Health, the Geriatric and Special Care Dentistry Clinic (National Dental Centre), NHG polyclinics and private dental practice have made her acutely aware of the barriers surrounding care for persons with physical and intellectual disabilities, mental health conditions, phobias and medical complexities. She is passionate about creating equitable outcomes in healthcare for these patients.
