Cl A/Prof Ken Tan is a Senior Consultant in Prosthodontics and active in postgraduate residency education with research interests in prosthodontics and dental implantology.
He is concurrently the Chief Risk Officer and held the position of Director, Clinical Governance & Quality Management at the National Dental Centre Singapore (NDCS) for a decade. A seasoned leader in quality and patient safety, he has spearheaded NDCS’s international accreditation journeys (JCI) transitioning into Ensure Safer Systems (ESS) recently. He built a robust framework for clinical quality and risk management, chairing numerous root cause analyses and initiating critical risk reviews. He strongly advocates for psychological safety, data-driven improvement, and has led significant system-wide reforms, including a Singhealth cluster-level initiative on sterile processing safety. His work focuses on creating a high-reliability culture where both patients and staff are protected.
