Koh Eng Tiong

Dr Koh Eng Tiong graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1984. Before pursuing specialist training in Endodontics, he served as a dentist with the Singapore Armed Forces, the Ministry of Health, and in private practice.
Dr Koh completed his Master of Science in Endodontics with Distinction in 1995 at Guy’s Hospital, University of London. Under the mentorship of the late Prof Tom Pitt Ford, his research and numerous publications—co-authored with Prof Pitt Ford and Prof Mahmoud Torabinejad—focused on Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA). His research supervisor was Prof Fraser McDonald, former Dean of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Upon returning to Singapore, Dr Koh practised as an endodontist at the National Dental Centre and lectured part-time at the National University of Singapore. In 1999, he was awarded Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. He has also served as an invited examiner for the Conjoint MRD RCS (Edinburgh) –CDSHK Intermediate Examination in Endodontics in Hong Kong, and from 2006–2020, as a journal reviewer for ENDO – Endodontic Practice Today. Prior to joining Raffles Dental as Senior Consultant and Specialist in Endodontics, Dr Koh successfully managed his own private practice for 19 years.
