Research and Publications: Research has advanced understanding of peripheral and central mechanisms of orofacial pain, neuroplasticity, trigeminal motor physiology and jaw function, bruxism, quantitative sensory testing, electrophysiology, brain imaging, and temporomandibular disorders. Over 600 original research articles, reviews, and book chapters have been published, with a recognised H-index of 77. Contributions to the development of international classifications and guidelines for pain, headache, orofacial pain, and bruxism have been acknowledged. Rankings include #1 globally in lifetime orofacial pain research (ScholarGPS).
Teaching and Knowledge Dissemination: More than 300 lectures, seminars, and courses have been delivered internationally, promoting the application of research findings to clinical management. Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Oral Rehabilitation since 2004.
Clinical Engagement: Ongoing clinical service involves managing diverse presentations of orofacial pain and dysfunction, ensuring continuous integration of research, teaching, and patient care. These activities collectively aim to advance the field of orofacial neurosciences and improve patient outcomes and health.
